The story is set in a steamy southern town and centers around a pre-Civil War home and its aged, delicate inhabitant who carries embroidered lace handkerchiefs doused heavily with lilac toilet water. Set the mood with an animated book cover. Blend Civil War photos panned with a Ken Burns effect, fading into one another with sepia tones and ending with a photo of a rocking chair, set to align perfectly with the boards of a wooden veranda, a red geranium abandoned on its seat.

Once inside, bring in a haunting old hymn—reminiscent of a graceful period in America where life meant summer lemonade and freshly cut daisies waving from a crystal vase. Many of us have warm memories of our youth and family gatherings where we may have listened from a shadow while our father told tales.
